Hello and welcome to my cooking show at Youtube.com/KawshisKitchen. Today I am going to show you how to make a delicious breaded cod filet from scratch. Most people buy the boxed cod filets from the supermarket, but I want you to make this at home and try what a difference it makes, when you make a fish from scratch. 1. First Take four cod filets and cut them in half. 2. Add a half a teaspoon of chili powder. 3. Add 1 teaspoon of salt. 4. I like to add a 1/2 a teaspoon of McCormick Montreal Steak seasoning to give this fish an extra kick. 5. Take half a lemon and squeeze the juice into the marinade mix. 6. Make sure you evenly coat every piece of fish with the marinade. 7. Now it's time to make the batter. 8. Now let's make the batter. Take 4 tablespoons of all purpose flour and mix it with a little bit of water. Your goal is to get the batter consistency just right, meaning not to thick and definitely not runny. 9. Coat the cod filets in the batter. 10. Cover the fish with breadcrumbs. 11. Preheat your over to 375 degrees. 12. Now we are going to shallow fry the fish for a few minutes, until it's lightly brown on either side. 13. Once the fish is fried set the cod pieces on a grate so the excess oil can drain. 14. Bake the fish for 25 to 30 minutes. That's it. My husband is not big on seafood, but when he tried the code filets from this recipe he loved them.
